I have been brainstorming and creating a very similar concept that deals with how organizations can not only organize and share best practices, but how they can partner and leverage their assets. I would love to chat with you at some point about where you see the Social Innovation Commons heading and some of my recent work in the field (rural Kenya) working this same problem/phenomenon.
