Climate Change And the Poor

Climate change solutions can and should be designed in ways that benefit low and moderate income families and neighborhoods.

The background paper explores the relationship between climate change mitigation strategies and low income populations.   It notes that in general, the integration of “equity” issues in the climate change debate is relatively early in its development. An aggressive strategy, especially by philanthropic investors, is advocated to advance this dialogue and practice.

This background paper was developed with funding from the Ford Foundation.
